- Overview - Dietes grows 4' to 6' tall and has Iris-like flowers that last one or two days. Blooms in Spring and early Summer and sporadically the rest of the year. Hardy in Zones 8b - 11. Break off flowers after bloom, but do not break off the flower stem. Prefers partial shade, but can take direct sun. Heat tolerant.
