NOTE - The USDA recently updated its Hardiness Zone Map necessitating some significant changes to the Hardiness Zone section of this site. Please bear with me over the next few months as I update the applicable pages. Also - If you are looking for the "Central Florida Garden" web site, you've found it. Sort of... I'm in the process of updating the site to include my new garden in the San Francisco Bay area, so for the foreseeable future this site will be in flux. But not to worry, I'll be keeping and updating the original content on Central Florida. If you do find any bad links, please feel free to contact me. |

Welcome - I created this website to satisfy three of my passions - gardening, photography and programming. While I've been gardening actively for three decades, this site is primarily devoted to the two gardens I created over the last decade - one near Tampa and the other in Richmond, California on San Francisco Bay. One is in Hardiness Zone 9a (Tampa) and the other in 10a (Richmond). So most of my favorite plants and recommendations focus on plants that can grow in these two hardiness zones. |

Check These Out - Search - There are over 400 pages on this site with details on nearly 100 plants. If you are interested in a particular plant or topic, try the Search box at the top of each page or go to Search. Butterfly Garden - I'm a passionate butterfly gardener and created a diary of my experiences. Hardiness Zones - After several months of research and contributions from visitors to this site, I was able to put together a comprehensive set of pages on the history of Hardiness Zones. Something Different - Tired of surfing the same old Web sites? Try these sites for something different. An Old Favorite - Looking for information on a particular plant, try the Favorites page. Garden Diaries - I'm a "warts and all" type of gardener - you might as well see my failures along with my successes. So I've kept several diaries of my adventures in the garden. |
